November 1st: Wednesday’s EFL Cup Double – 4/1 Special, Tips & Predictions

Watching the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United all turn their attention back to EFL Cup duties on Wednesday night, we certainly have a stacked schedule on our hands.

With a string of intriguing all-Premier League affairs in midweek, we have found a couple of EFL Cup betting markets that are worth keeping an eye out for.

19:30 West Ham vs Arsenal

Putting in a routine performance at the Emirates over the weekend as they breezed their way to a 5-0 romp against Sheffield United, Arsenal will be confident of booking their EFL Cup quarter-final ticket here. Flying out of the traps since opening up the 2023/24 campaign, it is no secret that Mikel Arteta’s budding squad have their sights set on mounting another Premier League title charge this time around.

Only continuing to gain a string of plaudits and one of just two Premier League outfits that are yet to suffer a single defeat from their first 10 top-flight showdowns, the Gunners have also gained a reputation for their clinical performances in the final third.

Sat in pole position to punch their Champions League knockout stage spot this year, the one-time Manchester City coach should also be excited by a stellar record against Wednesday’s hosts.

In fact, along with being unbeaten in each of their last eight meetings against the Hammers, Arsenal have also lost just a single trip to east London over the past decade.

On the flip side, while West Ham might have come flying out of the traps when opening up the 2023/24 campaign, David Moyes’ side have come crashing back down to earth in some style.

Last seen over the weekend putting in another worrying performance as they suffered a toothless 1-0 loss at the hands of Everton, the midweek hosts have lost each of their previous three showdowns across all competitions.

Marking their return from October’s international break with a 4-1 drumming against Aston Villa, the former Manchester United boss does find some mounting pressure on his shoulders at the London Stadium.

Betting Tip: Arsenal win Over 1.5 goals @ 9/5 with

19:45 Everton vs Burnley

While Everton might still be dealing with some public issues behind the scenes at Goodison Park, the Toffees have certainly claimed a welcomed boost on either side of October’s international break. Dragging themselves away from another looming relegation scrap, Sean Dyche’s side should be relishing a return to EFL Cup duties on Wednesday night.

Putting in another rugged performance over the weekend as they claimed a 1-0 victory away at Europa League outfit West Ham, the ex-Burnley boss should be smelling the chance to get one over on his former employers here.

Heading into October’s international break with a stellar 3-0 victory at home against Bournemouth, Everton have now won four of their previous six appearances across all competitions a run that stems back to September 17th.

Extending on their EFL Cup adventure last month as they secured a shock 2-1 win away at Aston Villa, the Blues will be looking to cash in on a Burnley squad who find themselves at the heart of a public struggle.

While Vincent Kompany’s side might have gained a string of praise as they breezed their way to a Premier League return last season, the Clarets have struggled to find any kind of stability this time around.

Last seen over the weekend getting hit with a 2-1 loss at the hands of fellow strugglers Bournemouth, Wednesday’s guests are sat firmly in the drop zone and tipped as a leading relegation contender.

Collecting just 10 points from any of their opening 10 Premier League appearances this season, the former Manchester City skipper has also seen his downbeat squad lose each of their previous three outings by an aggregate score of 9-2.
