data-mm-id=”_ggqwsznz5″>Sometimes in life, expectations don't match reality. When it comes to Tiger Woods' handicap, they actually exceed them. Thanks to our favorite self-proclaimed "golf stat pro" Lou Stagner, we now know what Woods' USGA index has been since he said "hello world" in 1996 and turned pro. It started out at a +5.1 (oh my!), got all the way up to a +9.4 (holy crap!) in 2008, slipped to a +3.7 (still, incredibly good) in 2015 when he was dealing with back and chipping issues and is currently a +6.5 (we back!). ???Question:What does Tiger's USGA index look like for his career?Answer:Pretty Pretty GoodFrightening when you consider this wasn't adjusted for tour conditions. It would be 2-3 shots better if it was. He was a +7 or better for 35% of his handicap revisions! ? pic.twitter.com/Wl6kPf8cA7— Lou Stagner (Golf Stat Pro) (@LouStagner) June 3, 2020For those who don't know what a handicap index is, it's the official calculation of a golfer's handicap based on where they live (so the USGA for players in the United States). It's not an extra average of what they shoot relative to par, but it is pretty close. That means for his career, Tiger's average score is around 6 strokes under par. As for his handicap, that is calculated at every course based on the slope and rating. So we don't know for sure what Woods' would be. However, usually you add around +1.5 strokes to your index to come up with a handicap. Based on these numbers, Tiger's handicap would average something around +8 and his high could be around +12. That means if you're a +2 handicap (less than 1% of golfers are), you'd be getting five strokes a side in 2008. That's bonkers. Even more amazing, this number doesn't take into account the fact that the courses Woods plays on, which these numbers derive from, are PGA Tour and major championship courses. If, as Stagner suggests, you adjust for tour conditions, Woods would be around a +12 index (+13-14 handicap) in 2008. Currently he'd be around a +8. We all know how good Woods is because we've watched him dominate on TV for two decades. Even at age 43, he won his 15th major last year, at the Masters no less. But seeing that index gives us weekend hackers something to compare to when we tee it up at our local muni, and let's just say for me (-10 index), it's a humbling experience.

Manchester United moved a step closer to playing in the Champions League next season as Casemiro’s brilliant overhead kick earned a 1-0 win away at Bournemouth.
Victory on the south coast, together with Liverpool’s failure to beat Aston Villa, strengthened United’s grip on a top-four spot with two games to play and meant Erik ten Hag is close to achieving his primary objective in his first season in charge.
This was not Ten Hag’s side at their best, but once they were in front they limited a spirited and organised Bournemouth to a handful of chances, with David de Gea in form to deny Gary O’Neil’s side whenever they threatened.

But a 96th-minute spot-kick for the France international, just under a fortnight on from his hat-trick in defeat for France in the World Cup final, ensured his side avoided dropping points for the third time this season.

History and odds will be stacked against Ukraine in their first ever European Championship quarter-final against England on Saturday.
The Three Lions have only lost one of their previous seven meetings with Ukraine, who never scored more than once in any of those matches.
That does not bode well when you consider England are yet to even concede once at Euro 2020, having become only the third side in Euros history to keep clean sheets in all of their first four games of a tournament.
If England do shut Ukraine out, they will match the record set by Italy at the 1990 World Cup of five successive clean sheets from the start of the competition.

Erik ten Hag said it would be normal if he has already held talks about becoming Manchester United s next manager.
The Ajax boss did not confirm whether discussions have taken place, and stressed he would wait until the end of the season before declaring his intentions.
But the 52-year-old appeared to give a strong hint his future could lie at Old Trafford, and said he hoped Ajax would understand if he elects to leave a year ahead of his contract expiring.
In an interview with Germany s Sport1, Ten Hag was asked about reports he has already spoken to United about the vacancy that will materialise when interim manager Ralf Rangnick steps aside.

Marcus Rashford came off the bench to score a quickfire hat-trick as Manchester United claimed back-to-back Champions League wins with a 5-0 hammering of RB Leipzig.
Mason Greenwood scored his first goal in the competition to give United the lead in the first half with a fine finish from a tight angle at Old Trafford on Wednesday.
But it was fellow striker Rashford, a 63rd-minute substitute, who left his mark on the game after twice breaking clear of the Leipzig finish and finishing emphatically.
Anthony Martial was on target from the penalty spot before Rashford put the gloss on the scoreline with another goal late on.
The victory leaves United top of Group H on six points, three clear of Leipzig and Paris Saint-German, who were 2-0 winners ove…

Vlahovic should stick with Juventus after ´storm´ of Serie A season, says former Fiorentina director
Dusan Vlahovic should remain at Juventus even if the Bianconeri fail to qualify for the Champions League, according to Lecce director Pantaleo Corvino.
Injuries have limited Vlahovic to just 12 appearances in Serie A this season, yet he is Juve s top scorer with eight goals.
The Serbia striker scored two and assisted another in the midweek win at Salernitana and will hope to add more in Sunday s match against former club Fiorentina.
But Juventus head into that match only two points ahead of La Viola due to a 15-point deduction following an investigation into past transfer dealings.
The Bianconeri have a mammoth 14 points to make up on the top four if they are going to qualify for the Champions League through their league position, and Vlahovic has been li…
Pep Guardiola hailed Gabriel Jesus display in Manchester City s 5-0 win against Norwich City and said he feels fortunate to be able to work with a player as selfless as the Brazilian.
